Upon shotdown of my Win 98 box, I get the following:

"An exception OE has occured at 0028:C00310C6 in VxD---.
This was called from 0028:C002 F 979 in VxD---. It may be possible to continue normally."

How can I fix this..the puter stays in the error msg display and will not shut down normally after the message appears.

Thanks.

Have to laugh at some of those error messages.."may be possible to continue normally"? Who writes these? Here is a link that might steer you to solution of problem...Fatal Exception (http://www.generation.net/~hleboeuf/fatlexer.htm)

Go to this site..VXD errors (http://www.geocities.com/SiliconValley/Orchard/3088/errors.htm) it has an excellant list of virtual drivers device errors and what they pertain too.

Have you downloaded and installed any new software lately? Have you added any new hardware? If you can tell us your system specifications and any changes you have made since you began getting this error, someone will be abel to assist you better. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/wink.gif
