Just some infor for future reference. This particular machine I was working has an MS5169 motherboard, K6-2 400 and a Diamond Monster Fusion AGP video card. On a clean install of 95 B or C and the install of the video drivers would reboot to a blue screen. I looked through the MS KB for details of the error and everything was telling me that it was corupt drivers. I tried installing from a different CDROM drive, tried copying the CDROM drivers to the hard drive and installing from there, tried the latest drivers from Diamond and tried the WHCL certified drivers. Nothing worked. So, I downloaded the AGP drivers from Acerlabs website and tried to install them. It was telling me I had to have Windows 95 SR 2.1 or greater. Well, I knew I had that already. After some thought on it, I installed the USBSupp from Microsoft and redetected the USB ports. they installed and then I ran the Ali drivers. In they go no problem. I then installed the Video drivers and they worked fine. So, somewhere in the registry, the program for installing the Ali AGP drivers is looking to see if USB is installed on the system for complience to SR 2.1 or greater. Anyway, I thought I would pass this little tidbit along in case someone might find some use out of it. BTW, another interesting feature. If you uninstall the USB supp from a Win95C machine, the version of your machine, as displayed in My Computer will be Win95B. Hmmm. Anyway, hope this helps someone.
