Hi...

Im not sure how this happened but Win ME on my PII 450 is now recognizing a B: drive as well as an A: on the same floppy drive. Under system info it states they both are operating under ms-dos drivers....When i click on that B: drive in explorer the system locks up. All in all, id like to get rid of it (B http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gifaltogether and just have my A: floppy drive. What's the easiest way to deleter it from my system??

Any help appreciated...

OK, I assume you only have one device on the floppy cable, and it's connected at the end past where part of the cable twists half way around.

Next thing is to go into BIOS and see what is configured. Can you tell the BIOS that there is no B: drive?

Thanks for the reply...

Yes, it is only a single drive with one cable attached. From what i can tell, the bios is only recognizing the drive as a single A: floppy. It is only within windows me that it shows up as a b:drive as well, operating under msdos. Thanks for any help.

Have you tried Removing the floppy drive(s) in the Device Manager and then reboot? My floppy indicated it was operating in MS-DOS Compatibility Mode after a Windows installation and it was not operating correctly. Redetecting the floppy in the above manner corrected it.
