hello,
I am starting to smell another Win ME rat. This will be the forth time for me to reload/clean install ME if it is.
I cant connect to the web on my Win ME partition of this PC. Am on 98 now. so I know the modem works. But I checked as much of it(properties/more info) as I could anyways. And I got the .log that shows all the steps it went thru, if that will help. I didnt reload the drivers.
Looked in Device manager-nothing.
I reinstalled the protocols TCP/IP, I have tried 5 different ISP's at this point. None can get thru the set up. Was on ATT. and of course they dont give any tech help for the 7/7 plan. (which I am getting rid of). I thought they wer the problem at first.
so if its not the modem, the protocols, and all the ISP's cant be bad....
I was thinking about reinstalling IE and outlook express.
ATT setup would get as far as letting me pick the the access numbers, then start retrieving something else and stop. The icon in the task bar shows as connected, and so does the setup window, untill that point.
I can ping my own PC but no servers...
I really dont know what else to check for.
If any one has ANY ideas I would VERY much appreciate it.
Thanks in advance

Peace be with you
