A Few of us use Linux.
I use Red hat.
I haven’t used Mandrake ..

Ask away. If someone knows the answer we’ll give it to you.
Or at least give you some help finding the answer.

Ok here goes. I duel boot with win98se and linux mandrake8.0. When i am in linux and want to go back to windows, my system hangs. It does it when i shut down or reboot. It starts to shut down, everything is checked ok till i get to unmounting system files. Then nothing, i have waited for up to a half hour, still nothing. I end up having to hit the reset button. When i go back into Linux It does a lot of fixing.
I have searched but can't seem to come up with anything on how to fix this problem, Someone I talked to thought maybe it was a conflict between win98 and linux and another thought maybe it was my ethernet card.
I am new to Linux so i don't know a heck of alot about it. Just wanted to try something different.

I am going to take a stab at it being the NIC...I've seen them do all sorts of things at start up or shutdown if it is not done in the order the card wants...make sure the card you are using is properly setup and that Mandrake fully supports it and isn't using some sort of "generic" setup for it.
