Windows XP irq's

Hi guys, I'm running WinXP pro and I've got evil ACPI turned on. I noticed the thing assigns irq 3 to my vid card, sound card, nic, and God knows what else. I turned it off but noticed performance drops in gameplay. I turned it back on (EVILLLLL!!!!!) and I'm just wondering how I can assign an IRQ to my nic card manually since it gives me troubles. IRQ 3?! that's normally reserved for COM 2/4-odd.

My suggestion is too move the NIC card to a seperate PCI slot, this will cause windows to reassign it to another IRQ.

thanks man. i did what you said, and it didnt solve the irq thing (still no 3). however, the aforementioned troubles have disappeared. strangely enough, the motherboard is new.... will wonders never cease.
