Alright...I had a partioned hard drive, it was in 3 part c, d and e. I tried to install a video card, but the computer wouldn't turn. I took it out and worked fine. Then I tried to install another card, this time a monster voodoo 3d card and it turned on fine. It prompted me to find the drive which I had saved on my d drive. For some reason I couldn't get into the d drive but I could get into my a drive. I figured I'd turn it off, unplug the card and put the driver onto a disk so that I could find it when I pluged the card back in. When I turned it back on without the card in I realized, while looking for the driver in the d drive, that the d drive had turned into what used to be my e drive, and the former d drive was completely missing. I figure windows (98) isn't registering that it's there anymore, but I don't know why and I don't know what to do about it. HELP!

If you didnt wipe out the partition in fdisk then it is still there! It might be a different Drive Letter than what you THINK it should be, but it IS there! Try looking for your video drivers in Drive F...Windows might have assigned the CD Rom to one of the other letters, tho that would be strange indeed.

Hey, that could be the problem but the thing is, where there once was an a(floppy), c, d, e (partitioned drives) and f(cd) there is now only the a,c,d, and f. One went completely missing. Do you think maybe d is now f and the cd is now gone? I also am not sure how my drive was partitioned. Would it be parttioned into three or could it have been partitioned into two then had another added. I didn't do it, i had some tech guy do it and I can't remeber what he told me he did. My mind is thouroghly scrambled on this and I got school work (that was on the missing drive) due in a week! AHHHHHH!!!
