Trying to diagnose a problem for a friend, really dont know too many details at all..

but anyone have an idea where the problem would be if your computer will only boot up in turbo mode?

also this same computer had been loosing time, which makes me think this problem might somehow be cmoss related? yes ? no? maybe?

sorry for the lack of info.

Losing time means bad CMOS battery, replace it.

Turbo mode is a bit misleading, running in turbo is actually the designated speed of the computer, turning turbo off slows it down so older programs can run, especialy games created for slower machines. (I'm assuming you mean the turbo button on front.)

If the computer is a Pentium, turbo is normally not used. It was commonly used with 386/486 machines, and it came in handy quite often on my old 486.
