Tools-Internet Options-Temporary Internet files-Settings-General tab
W/98SE shows a slider bar for "Temp Internet Files".
Mine is showing 96MB storage size as default. Once the file is full what
happens to cookies that are continually loaded from websites? Is there a
swapping process going on?
Also "View Objects" brings up a "Downloaded Programs Folder". Not sure
what this applies to. For instance I clicked on a link to automatically
check and update my e-mail account settings. I now have a file installed
to show me that I done this and I am assuming a mini-program to insert the
proper configuration settings.

You can put the slider where you like, mine is at 30Mb.

There's a difference between Cookies and Temp.Int.Files. Cookies are permanent (unless you delete them manually). TIFs are Temporary and can be emtied at IE\Properties\General.

When capacity is reched IE will start chucking out the TIFs (?on a First in Firts Out basis) but not the Cookies.

The Downloaded Programs Folder contains Active X controls which Websites have put in there, with your permission if you have Security set at Medium.

Thanks.

The answer they are swapped out was what I was looking for.
Knew about the slider function.
Am assuming that "cookies" with end dates will get swapped.
I am set at 20mb now.
