I just set my computer up as a dual boot using Windows 98 and Windows XP. I used Partition Magic 7.0 to do this.

Here's my question, hopefully someone will know.

Disk Partition Type Size Pri/Log

1 *. Unallocated 7.8 Primary

1 *. Extended 60.000.6 Primary

1 *.WinXP NTFS 60.000.5 Logical

1 C:Win98 FAT32 16.3.8.1 Primary

Is this the way it should look ? I have an 80GB hard drive and I was trying to make Win98 use 20GB's and XP to use the other 60GB.

Also one more thing. I can only see one hard drive in "My Computer" when I'm in Win98. I see both hard drives (both partitions) when I'm in WinXP, but the XP it shows the XP partition as being my "F" drive.
Is this all ok ??

If it works then yeah, it is ok. Win9x cannot see/use an NTFS partition so 98 not seeing the XP is normal and the XP being the logical, partition using the full extended partiton is normal also....but it also look like youu have a little leftover that isn't assigned to anything...which is fine.

As to XP making itself F:, what are D: and E: in XP?

mjc,
Thanks for the response, my "D" drive is my DVD, and the "E" drive is the CD-RW.

So it looks like this:
"C" Drive Windows 98
"D" Drive DVD
"E" Drive CD-RW
"F" Drive Windows XP

Again, thanks for the response,
Mil
