Trouble loading CD-rom with Win XP

I rebuilt my computer, updated motherboard, installed same CD-rom, installed windows XP pro, it says it has installed the approiate driver, but the hardware device cannot be found. the cd-rom does not show up under "my computer". It shows up under "device manager", but has the alert yellow exclamation point. Can anyone help??

Make sure all connections are secure on the cdrom. In device manager right click your cdrom with exclamaation point and remove it. Reboot and see if if it will work now. cya

Have you tried to obtain the latest xp drivers from the cd-rom mfrs website?
