First Win 95 crashes. In trying to re-boot using Boot-up disk and CD, Win95 install tell me that the C drive is the wrong configuration. Since the drive was fine yesterday, I stop the install and check the C drive. From the dos prompt, I do a DIR. The DIR finds no files and 8 meg of free space. This is strange because the 6.4 gig drive was 20& full. Can anyone tell me what is going on?

Try running Scandisk, but it sounds like the partition may be scrambled beyond an easy recovery.

What version of Win95 are you trying to install? Win 95a was a fat16 file system while win95b started with the fat32 system. If you are trying to install a fat16 OS on a fat32 formatted harddrive it will not be recognized. While in dos run fdisk and determine the fat system of the harddrive, Then check the version of you win95 OS ( check the readme file)
