hello ppl,
i have a problem installing REDHAT LINUX 7.0
i alreay haave WIN Me installed in my machine..
i have a 20gb harddisk and left 5gb free while installing windows for
my linux..
while i try installing linux it says it cannot install coz the first 1024
cylinders isnt free...and i have to abort the installation..
how would i get it nailed?
please help me out...

I found that the cheap and easy way was to install LILO to a floppy instead of to the hard drive. The only downside is you have to boot Linux from that floppy.


Mabey others will another option for you.

Some of the newer versions are not limited to the first 1024 (like Mandrake 8.1 and maybe Redhat 7.2)....
