FreeBSD Newbie!
FreeBSD 4.5 XFree86 4.20
ATI All In Wonder Radeon 32mb AGP Video card
Samsung Syncmaster 950p Monitor
I have finally been able to boot into a GUI (KDE) after "startX".
In Windows & Linux I normally run my desktop at 800x600 > 16K colors. In my XF86Config files I have the modes set up as "800x600", "1024x768", and "1280x1024" >Default Depth "16".
When installing 4.20 I did not get an option to not select "virtual desktop" (?) as you do when installing XFree 3.36. Booting into the 800x600 KDE screen > the screen stretches way out of view. I've played with "xvidtune" > can't get anything reasonable in 800x600 >end up having to use 1280x1024. Which file(s) do I have to edit and what do I put in them to get my Desktop configured the way I want it and to keep those settings?
Been working as root so far. What needs to be edited so I can "startx" > KDE as a user?
Thank's- Tuzinor
