Umm....4 bit....did you by any chance not activate XP or change enough hardware that you would have to reactivate?

Sounds an awful lot like a "reduced functionality mode" to me......

Hi mjc,
The only thing i've done today.
Was ad my video camera software.
I've just been to MS and and found that there may be a problem with.
Windows (Q314503)
Master boot record.
Partition tables.
Boot sector.
NTLDR file.
It says boot with rescue disk, but I dont know how to get passed the A prompt.

Use the XP CD to boot and select the repair option...then you should have several options to choose from (like last known good, a repair the boot process and maybe a couple of others...), try the last know good....that should be the equivalent of restoring the registry in 9x and should also remove the camera software (or at least the registry entries for it).

Try here (http://www.webtree.ca/windowsxp/repair_xp.htm)

Hi mjc,
I've done everything you suggested, still no go.
Two things I hav'nt done, install over the top if it will let me.
Or uninstall, if this can be done from ME?.
XP has now been running for 46 Days.
One other thing I did yesterday, was download and try to run MIRC.
Thanks,
kfh.

Ps What do I type at the A promt if I try the rescue disk.

Hi All,
I'm back in XP http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/biggrin.gif.
I installed over the top.
But got a message telling me, That my graphics card has not passed windows logo testing.
I downloaded the xp drivers when I first installed.
What do I do now to stop this problem again.
Thanks,
kfh.
