hi,
I downloaded the last 4 "official critical upgrades" two days ago from M$ website for my WinXPpro and now I am experiencing frequent freezings and no shutdowns (not always but often). What the heck M$ is doing?
any idea?
thanks

?? Did you D/l all at one time or each one seperate? some times if you try to do the whole update at once it gets jumbled?

I did it all at once and actually I lost the modem line once and I had to start all over but "fortunately" some how the pc maintained the first chunck of data in the memory. So the final installation was a "patchwork" of two downloads. Sounds bad but the installation went smooth and got no error messages. Should I remove these upgrades and start again? any suggestion?

If you go to the following link this will allow you to download the updates indiviually, and lets you save them on a seperate disk for future use. At present there are a total of about 29 - 30 updtaes (critical and recommended) http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/en/default.asp?corporate=true
