WinNT Profile problem

One of the PC's in our Data center is having some issues with loading user profiles. The users profile will load all of their settings and IE Fav's.... basically everything in the users profile is loaded...except their desktop. NT will load the default desktop instead of their own. The operators have to open up their profile folder to be able to access their individual shortcuts on their desktop.

This happened once before about 3 months ago, but the issue disappeared as strangely as it appeared. The current issue started up again about 2 weeks ago. The system is your basic desktop Intel PII 266Mhz, 128 MB RAM, running WinNT with SP6a.

Hopefully somebody here will know the answer to our issue...

Have you tried backing up the user's files, deleting his account on that computer, removing all user file locations, then re-creating the user's account and restoring his/her data?
