I've been seeing this error a lot lately. I'm runnning a copy of WinXP Pro on my system. I've updated my MB BIOS, my graphics card, my soundcard. I've uninstalled my backup software and my virus checker and XP is STILL crashing randomly, displaying this error message as it falls over and gives me that nice, big BSOD we all know and love.

All I can find in my Event Logs is an error reported by Zone Alarm about not being able to find a description for Event 1 in the TrueVector Monitor which SEEMS to correspond with the times the machine's fallen over. I'm currently downloading the latest version of ZA as well.

All I can really say at this point is HELP, please. This is driving me nuts, my system is so unstable it's not true. MS provide no real helpful advice on how to resolve this other than uninstalling all my third party software. Does anyone else have any idea about this one?

this is a problem that i've seen addressed in several Nvidia forums; it's generally related to Nvidia's drivers and an ASUS board.

The usual recommend fix is to update to the lateset det drivers ( 28.90 i believe are the most current ) from Nvidia, you can get them here at the Guru3d (http://guru3d.com). Now this is just a shot in the dark for me since you haven't given much in the way of system details, however if you do have an Nvidia card ( geforce/TNt/etc. ) then i would recommend you try this to see if it helps you.

The only other suggestion i have is to enter your BIOS and set your AGP speed to 2x instead of 4x ( if it's set so ).

If you don't believe these tips will help you, you could also try using the recovery console in XP to reinstall critical system files. just insert your XP CD into your cd drive and choose the " repair " option when presented with it.

I did a search of the AMDMB (Amd Mother Board) forums.
http://amdmb.com/vb/index.php

Using the error message you are getting.
It shows up on 102 Threads and ranges across every Mother Brand and type.
Unfortunately I wasn’t able to find your exact Mother board

A few common things are listed.
Drivers, Power supply and Memory .
Sorting out what exactly is the problem on your unit may take a bit of experimenting
