This is probably a simple fix. Not a big problem, just annoying.
After re-starting the computer from last using it, everything I entered in the Start...run line is gone. Also, anything entered in the IE 5.5 address line where URL's are typed in is also cleared out.
Is there a setting someplace the I've got wrong?
Thanks to all.

You can adjust all these settings with TweakUI. It's a free download. Click here. (http://www.annoyances.org/exec/show/tweakui)

I have that already and it doesn't seem to fix the problem. For some reason, the HKEY_CURRENT_USER/software/microsoft/windows/currentversion/explorer/runMRU key in the registry is getting cleared out everytime Windows is restarted. I just don't know why or how.
Thanks.

Ok.....what exactly have you checked and what OS are you running?

I can't think of any native setting in Win9x that will clear them on exit, but have you used any other tweaking programs?

Sounds Like you have it set to clear history at boot/shutdown or the history level set to zero

I'm running Windows 98. No other tweaking programs. Where can I check IE history and the history of the Run line? I'll take a look.

It's set at 7 days. This is not that big a problem. I'm going to clean install XP later this month or in June anyway.
Thanks.

HHMMM,
Try start>settings>controlpanel>internetoptions>advanc ed
About midway down enable Auto Complete for Web addresses and Windows Explorer. This will get the address lines to remmember on-line but I'm not sure how to get the Start>Run>doesn'tremmembersh*t fixed. If anyone does I'm listening.
