Windows XP Home Edition:

Having set the "Privacy" tab (in IE version 6) set at "Medium" and posted several times to the PC Guide I feel that by now I should have had my cookies restored, but find I still have to type in my ID and password. Hmm . . . http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/confused.gif

Instead of Medium, try customize and set it ot Aceept First party Cookies
and Block Third Party Cookies

That's how I have mine and it works fine

You'll notice a little Red icon on the Status Bar from time to time
doubleclick it and you'll see what's been Blocked

Also If you cleaned out the old cookies.
you should use the Profile and Preferences Link on the top of the Board page to allow it to create a new cookie for the site

It will not create a new cookie ( the Site) unless you tell it to do so

thingy Thanks for your reply - alas, your solution didn't work for me. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/confused.gif

Rick Bulls eye - it worked. Of course, I should have remembered how to do it - but there you are. Again, many thanks. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif
