I have formatted, run fdisk, formatted again, added the dos partion. when trying to install from E:setup it comes up "windows setup requires `largest executable program size` to be at least 442368 bytes to run".
(I have a 6 gig harddrive). sounds like there may be another partition or the dos partion is wrong size although fdisk says "no partions".

Thinking maybe the boot files may be corrupt, I tried to copy the files to the harddrive but it will not copy. I can see the cd when I type d:dir. please help. thank you.

How many partitions did you make on the Hard drive?
It sounds like you wanted to make 2 Or you have a second hard drive.

The first thing to do is Verify that you have created the partitions you want on the drive,
Run Fdisk and use the Display partition Information.
it should list the partitions and Have one marked as Active.

The First Partition ( c: should be the active partition) the other partitions should be listed as extended partition (If you created 2 or more logical drives D: and so on)

If your dos partition is not marked as active you can fix that using the Active partition selection from the first menu.

The error message you are getting is Not A hard drive size error

`largest executable program size` to be at least 442368 bytes to run".

it is available memory error.
Your boot disk and or programs on it are using to much memory or doesn’t have a memory manager loading.
When it boots the system..

If you have one available try using a win98 boot disk and not run any of the extras
Or create a boot disk with nothing on it But the memory manager (Himem.sys) abd cd-rom support.
Boot from that disk and then run the setup from the cd.
