Hi All,
I have'nt got a lot to go here.
A friend is trying to connect his digital camera up on his comp.
He keeps getting a 'connection error' check connection.
Software installed, cable pluged in.
OS Win 98se I think, Usb lead.
If I go round where do I start looking not sure of Win 98.

Thanks,
kfh.

Hi kfh. Don't know about the USB cameras, mine uses the serial port, but when I get this error, it usually means either the camera battery is low, or I forgot to turn it on!
Probably no help at all.

kfh, I have a usb camera and When I first installed the software it did not take I ended up going to the MFG. site and D/L from there { Bad CD I Guess }. Have to agree with David, could be a battery or it is not on, or bad software Install !

Hi All,
The camera's two weeks old but I'll check battery first.
And take it from there.
Thanks,
kfh.

Yep battery is a good bet,but I had a problem like that,,try this. With the computer OFF,Camera ON,plug the USB cable in to the camera, then the USB into the computer and boot the computer.I don't care what they say 98 has problems finding USB'S.
If your sure the software is installed right, and it still will not work,,1.Check the cable!2.With every thing on(Computer and Camera),plug in the USB,then re-boot.
Hope it helps.

www.usb.org/faq/ans3.html (http://http://) will give you some USB information for Win98.
Also you have to enable USB in the BIOS
