Small files......NO; zero K files, maybe (many zeroK files are either placeholder or a log file that is cleard on exit, so they would be recreated next boot/use; tmp, temp yes, trace and sam, probably not....

Anything in Windows\Temp has not been modified since you last booted can be, well, booted. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/tongue.gif

Something you can do: create a directory, call it, say, "SAFE." Move files you want to delete into subdirectories with the current date as the name. Copy the full paths and file names to a text document to be saved in the folder for reference. After a few weeks here, if you've used your computer regularly since, a subdirectory should be safe to delete.

I think there are some files that cause windows to freak out if their removed from the windows directory, so make your SAFE folder outside of windows as well.

thx for all the "F1".

i have some 1400 0 kb files and 99% of the files have this kinda name :- "ff007ee9_{5564261D-943F-4765-A716-3B3CDFCF78D7}.tmp" .... i think these have somethin to do with windows registry as similar types of names can be seen even there.

They are safe to delete. Usually they are created while installing an application, but serve no purpose afterwards. *.tmp files should always be safe to delete.

If you've got that many of those, try searching for files called mscreate.dir. They are created during application installs, and are safe to delete afterwards as well.
