During the Mandrake Linux install, i skipped the installation process for disks 2 & 3 because I didn't have them on cd. What exactly is on disk 2 & 3? I was able to skip disk 2 & 3 and finish the installtion without any problems. Is there a way to install disk 2 & 3 without starting all over again?

I also found that mandrake was able to install my internet and network settings without my help! it was really easy getting on the internet!!! but i don't think i have a firewall running... what is the best linux firewall ?

depends what version you have..mines standard version 8 (with updates)
but from the mandrake list (with mine). the CDs are as follows...,

Core System
Second Installation
Commercial Applications
Commercial Applications 2
IBM Viavoice
Flight gear & world scenery game
Supplimentary Applications
Supplimentary Applications Sources
Installation sources

2 updates

Haven't got around to installing mine yet, I started to read the (huge) installation guide, got to partitioning (into 4) and got cold feet (having just got all my partitions (& drive letters as I want them.)

how did the install go? & how did it move your drive letters about?

I think bastille is on disk 2 (if I remember disk 2 is the one with all the networking packages....)

I think if you go to the Mandrake update manager (can't remember the exact name for it right now) you should be able to view and install the packages from the other disks...
