I have an Arbor system and when I reformatted my system last night it did not recognize my modem. Does anybody know what modem Arbor uses in their systems so that I can find the Modem web site and download the driver??

I'm guessing you can't see your modem in the Device Manager otherwise I's say look at there and it will give you some idea. I'm not familiar with Arbor at all...do you have their web address or know their location? I searched Yahoo and there were several diff Arbor computer-related sites. Another option is to find the FCC ID number on the modem and go to this site http://www.fcc.gov/oet/fccid/
this will at least give you a little more information. While you're looking at the modem and write down all other numbers you see so once you get to the manufacturer's site you may be able to recognize your model number.

PCI, ISA or integrated? If the modem is integrated on the motherboard, you won't be able to find out much about it as a separate item. You could try checking in your BIOS setup program to be sure the COM ports are enabled. When you start up, you should see get a message like "[del] to enter setup" and pressing the delete key will take you there. Then look for something like "Integrated Peripherals" or similar. If you're not sure, and don't have a manual, just write down any settings that refer to modem, COM, or UART, and post them back here. Sorry for all the detail if you already know how to do this. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/biggrin.gif http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/wink.gif
