registry inspection

hi..
while i was working on winnt4.0 booting from the emergency disk..
i got four choices that will be done.
one of them was that(inspect the system registry)..
my ques. is..will that inspection damage or change anything in the registry
..and if it does so..where will it put the damaged files?

Why are you booting from emergency repair disk... is something not working? There should be a restore option that actually fixes it and replaces stuff, inspection should just go through and tell you what it recommends changing. I haven't gone through that menu, it is not cover on exam, I will have to check it out when I get home tonight. I love questions that I don't know the answer too but I can find out... makes me think and learn.
