I installed Norton utilities on my machine and it worked great but then a lot of crazy things started to go on with the hard drive. I have talked to several other users and they told me to delete it for it would cause the hard drive to crash. I like the program and would like to use it. Any suggestions. The hard drive is a 20G and is new. Bill

what sort of crazy things started going on with the hard drive? Also, what are your system specs? Kinda hard to guess what kinda stuff is happening on your computer.
I can tell you this, most disk utilities that are supposed to prevent system crashes generally cause more system crashes than they prevent... meaning only norton program I would ever install on my computer is the antivirus, and even then I would only do it with free copy, cause I hate virus scanners.

Reddog Thanks for the reply. I am running a 233mmx pentium2 and have 96meg of ram. The funny thing is that when defrag runs the middle of the hard drive becomes empty and the information is put at the end of the drive. Next time it may take all day for the doctor to run and the scan disc keeps coming on. I have taken the program off. I had written Symantec and got no response. Computer seems to hace perked up after uninstalling the program.
