Word

Every time i try and save a word file (Word 97) im working on, it says that the fast save limit has been exceeded and word closes without saving, and i loose all ive just worked on.

Help please

Shauny: How long has this been going on? Have you checked how much free space you have on H.D.? How many documents do you open simultaneously?

ive been working on an assignment since this time last week, and i only open that assignment.
it was saving fine earlier today, and its just been happening in the last hour or two.
If i open another document it saves that fine, it just doesnt want to save this particular assignment.

Any suggestions

If you have a "Macro Virus" Scanner......run it on this file....esp. if you started the file on one computer and put it on a disk and moved it to the computer that's having a problem with it. You might just have an errant macro or corrupted macro ...but it could be a macro virus too...hopefully someone else here can give you some ideas......I'm really more of a hardware guy!

Turn off Fast Save. It may take an extra 3 milliseconds to save a document but your file size will be smaller. Tools > Options > Save, uncheck 'Allow fast saves'.
