hello, i am new to this board. i like the site a lot.
very well put togeather.
i use outlook express 5.5. all the sudden it is subscribing to
any/all newsgroups i visit. i cannot seem to find a way to stop it in the options. i probably went right by it 10 times. cant find it in help either.
Does anyonr know how to shut this feature off?
thanks in advance.
Peace be with you
I couldn't come up with any thing specific to your problem but these quotes from the OE help file maybe of somehelp.
"When you find a newsgroup you like, you can "subscribe" to it so that it is displayed in your Outlook Express Folders list. Subscribing provides easy access to your favorite newsgroups, eliminating the need to scroll through the long list on the server each time you want to visit a favorite newsgroup."
"To cancel your subscription to a newsgroup, click the Newsgroups button, click the Subscribed tab, select the group you want, and then click the Unsubscribe button. You can also right-click the newsgroup in your Folders list and then click Unsubscribe."
"Note: If you double-click a newsgroup name, you get an automatic subscription to that group."

hi and *Welcome*.. yes this is a fantastic...arena to get/provide help with just about ANYthing pc related !! http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif
in OEX- click "Tools".. "Options".. and then on the GERNERAL TAB, UNcheck where it says "Notify if there are any new newsgroups".
also under "Tools", click Newsgroups, unsubscribe any that you no longer want.
