mIRC

I downloaded mIRC and installed it, got it running, but I kind of like checking out a couple of programs, to see which one I like best. It seems that mIRC is about it though?

The few times I used the Java client to go to the chat channel were so annoying. It took quite a while to connect, with mIRC very quick connections....and of course if preconfigured mIRC can get you right there no questions asked...

Some other clients are available, mIRC is just the most popular one of the bunch.

Tucows (http://www.tucows.com/circ95.html) has a couple posted.
VIRC (http://www.megalith.co.uk/virc/) is available.
IRC.Net (http://www.irc.net/) looks good.
IRC Clients (http://www.connected-media.com/IRC/clients.htm) might be useful too. Google might come up with more good links, I didn't really want to search through all 3,430,000 hits...IRC was the keyword I used to find these links.

mIrc was the first one on the list and then there were several for VIRC and a bunch of JAVA IRC clients and a bunch were just reviews....but mIRC seems to be what I want, but I'll know for sure in a couple of days.......

about 3 years ago I was using a irc program called pIrch...it was pretty cool and problem free. It did everything mIrc could do and had a bit more eye appeal. At the time I prefer'd it over mIrc/vIrc. I haven't used a irc client in a couple of years now so I don't if pIrch is still available. Check it out if it is...
