Audio CD Freezes CPU

I installed a writable cd drive as slave to my cd drive and now as soon as I play an audio cd, my cpu freezes up completely. I did install the two programs that came with cdw. Uninstalled them and reinstalled, same problem. Looking for help! Thank you. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/cool.gif

I dunno if this will help you but it cured my cdrw problems.What
I had to do is connect one cd drive as primary slave and the other
to secondary slave.
When I did a little research on the subject that is what is
recommended to do.

yup...

make the cd-r slave to the hard drive on the primary controller and make the cdrom master on the secondary controller. In device manager unclick the dma setting for both cdrom and cd-r and reboot. This usually works for me and clears up any issues. Good luck
