I received an e-mail from a relative with an attachment that has a extention .LST and I can't open it. Please help.

One possibility -- a Visual Basic list file.
I'd have to have a lot of confidence in the person who sent that, before
I'd even consider opening it. They may have a virus and not even know it yet.
Attachments are a primary way of transmitting viruses. If they can not
verify that they meant to send it to you, play safe and delete it.
Then scan your own system.
