Well, it's my turn to ask tonight.
System specs:
Dell, PIII 500
onboard EVERYTHING!
64mgb pc100 sdram
(weird mobo, these Dells)
Add-on Kingston Nic for DSL
set up in a "Workgroup lan with 1 server
NT4.0 w/sp4 installed

First problem:through a series of events that I'm not exactly clear on, they lost DSL connection and ended up reinstalling NT again (not correctly) and ended up with terminal BSOD. Going back to "last known good" and repairing existing install did no favors for me(any ideas as to why that is). Ended up flattening and reinstalling from scratch. All is fine with that.
Second problem: When trying to install DSL modem, instructions say to open "Dialup-networking" and then more connection instructions. When I click Dialup-networking it prompts me to install it. I go thru the motions, it says "Installed, must restart system." I do and when I go back to set up DSL, it prompts me to install again. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance gang.

See if this (http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q171/0/15.ASP) helps.

http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/cool.gif Thanks fellas.
My first time in the feild, and on my own gig, got a little frustrated (other things involved) and did'nt even think to check KB.
Thanks Tjay, I am sure that will do it. I see a couple steps I did wrong.
Sea, it's an external modem from PacBell, ethernet connection to the Kingston Nic. I have the Nic configured and it pings OK.I think I just need to learn how to set up DUN correctly http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

As far as I know, the only software they got was the driverdisk for the nic. A rather unorganized little shop. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/frown.gif
As far as winPoET, I'm not sure.??. One of the terms I am still unfamiliar with. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/rolleyes.gif
