Hello, A friend had some old games zipped on his hard drive and he gave me a couple to play, but all the files are zipped. I tried to unzip them but I keep getting errors. He said that i might need a DOS or older version of winZip to decompress these files.
The question is does this sound familiar to anyone? I thought that winZip would be back/compatable with early 90's de/re/compressions.
Thanks, steve
(The errors are corruption errors, on all the old files. Yet the new files unzip just fine)

You may have to search the freeware/shareware sites for PKZIP, the 'ancestor' of WinZip.

Also a couple of the newer zip management programs like PowerArchiver (http://www.powerarchiver.com/) offer the option to repair zip archives.
