Why my modem dial in 'TONE' mode whenever I try to play in multiplayer mode in games like Red Alert 2, Sudden Strike etc. Modem is set up for PULSE dialing and working properly with internet connection!?

pulse mode??

I don't think that can work.

your computer needs the 'tone'.. it can't 'read' pulses....

actually
when i first got my computer with my dialup, it was dialing in pulse and connecting at its normal speed (24000) and i never knew what was going on. then one day i listened closely and noticed it was "pulsing" the numbers to the ISP and went in settings and changed it to Touch Tone http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif
still got 24000, so it can read it somehow.

The games are probably configured to dial in Tone mode. Usually that's the default setting for modems to dial into the internet too.

thanks for your interests in this topic, but I found the answer for my problem. String must like this : "ATP <phone number>", and modem will dial in pulse mode http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif

yes, I'm not sure what I was thinking when I replied.. I should have supplied you with the list of AT command strings.
