I purchased two 64 MB chips of PC133 SDRAM to replace my one 32 MB SDRAM chip on my VX Pro+ motherboard. The system will only recognize them as 8 MB each. The local CompUSA techie says that the PC 133 is intended for processors rated at 300MZ and faster. I have an Intel 233 MMX. thought it was downward compatible. Is this just a CMOS setting that I am missing or is the MB buss speed jst too low for this memory? Any suggestions?

I would think that the RAM is backward compatible. Try to find, in your mobo manual where it refers to the type of RAM that will work. There are some boards that have specific requirements regarding the "single-sided" and "double-sided" sticks. This may be the problem your are encountering. I cannot think of anything else unless of course your system requires other types of RAM such as Fast Page, ECC, EDO or some other type. If you check www.crucial.com (http://www.crucial.com) they will list the particular RAM for your mobo. I believe they also have a little tutorial of the different types of RAM. Of course, one or both of the sticks could be defective as they are easily damaged via ESD (electro-static discharge).
I will try to find info on your mobo and if I have better advice I will post back. Someone else may come along with better advice in the mean time.
