Around the end of 1997 I had a job where among other things I did some development work with Lotus Notes. I've been away from the field since then ("downsized") and am now writing a new resume to apply for a position similar to the one I had. Trouble is I can't for the life of me remember the VERSION NUMBER of Lotus Notes I was using then. I know it was the then-current version (co. had lots of bucks for the latest hard/software, not so much for support staff, #!$#!!%%&**^! SOBS!!!). Can anyone tell me what version of Notes was current in late '97 early '98, or where I might find out? I know it's dumb not to recall and frankly I'm embarrassed asking, but I ***REALLY*** need to know this.

Well what I've been able to dig up Version 4.0 was out in '95 and Version 5.0 was out in '99 so it had to be Version 4.x (4.6) or so....

MJC-Thanks for the reply. I was thinking it was 4.something, but needed to be sure. Can you tell me, is Notes as hot as it was then? As I recall it was a pretty unique product at the time, given its combination of features etc. What competes with it now?

Thanks,

Dan

Hi http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif

Lotus is still cool.It can be used in an enterprise level with multiple servers in different sites all accessing a centralised distribution center and all that kind of stuff .We use Lotus 5.6,and I think Lotus is still very in!

I'm currently developing in Notes 4.5.7 launched January 1999. We are in the process of upgrading to V5 and Notes is still a powerful and useful product.

LOTUS is still very much in demand/use-especailly in major corps becuase its a proven ( inexpensive ) tool that virtually everyone uses-though MS is( has been ) trying to horn in and get everyone to use just OFFICE tools-i still use LOTUS and we keep in use through out our network.
So you're not outdated; just experianced! http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
