I recently in the process of repairing a Pent II 300 i am having a problem with the computer saving bios setting if i reboot it saves if i pull the plug all setting are gone i replaced battery still same. I am wondering if i am just missing something minor any help would be great bios is award 4.5x plase help....

If the clock is not remaining set when the power is off, then I think the battery is not good, or the holder contacts are dirty. I don't know if it is possible to have the battery in upside down, but maybe that could be a problem.

If it's the typical CR 2032 wafer type battery, I'm sure it can be installed upside down. Nothing else I can think of would cause loss of settings when you unplug, battery is your problem I'd bet. That or bad CMOS chip...
