View Full Version : what kind of motherboard are you?

i have an hp pavilion 6553 i need a new mother board for it,but i cant seem to find out what kind it is,or where to get one,,hp hasnt helped,and im tierd of fooling with them any suggestions??,,thanks.

It is definitely a proprietary board that if replaced will leave you unable to use your restore disk.

That said it probably is a Trigem i810 board called cognac. If HP will sell you a replacement it would probably be in the $150+ range in which case you can get an i810 board and Win98 from elsewhere and not worry about not being able to restore.

Hello,

If you are still tying to figure out who made your motherboard,jump on a internet available computer and do a search for Wim's bios page. What you will have to do is rebbot your computer and see what bios your old board has, if you can. Hope this helps!
