I have a Dell Inspiron CPx laptop. I undocked it at work, got home and attempted to power it on with no luck. I plugged in the power cord, no luck. The top left green light was on, after a while then the right green light was on only. I have tried to turn it on over and over again, still not much life here.
Can anyone give me some guidance? Could it be the battery? I have had the computer for about 5 months, have never changed the battery. The instruction guide doesn't help much.
Any direction would help as I have a huge presentation tomorrow and can't get in to get my 20 hours of work!
Thank you anybody..

Have you tried removing the battery, and then plugging into the 120 volts? That's the way I usually run my IBM Thinkpad. (But I'm guessing this isn't going to help you http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/frown.gif .)

We use that model of Dell here and one of them had this problem. Unpluging the battery sometime would get iot to boot a little faster. But the problem didn't go away. Final Dell said it was a problem with the motherboard so they sent out a tech and he replaced the MB in about 20 mins.
I would give Dell a buzz if your laptop is still under warranty.

At the bottom of the laptop there should be 2 latches, one for the CD/floppy and one for the battery. Pull out the latch and while holding the latch out, pull the battery from it's slot.
By the way we have the Latitude CPx not the Inspiron CPx, but it should be about the same.
Hope this helps http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif
