For the 10th f**&$! time i have to change my Dialing connection to the Internet to "Never Dial a Connection". It keeps jumping back to "Always dial my default connection". This causes my internet to simply disconnect when I haven't been using it for a while and then all to happily starts dialing up again.. now you can imagine what my phone bill must look like at the end of the day!! Im using a free internet provider & am starting to think if they haven't implemented a little bug that checks every 5 min what my settings are and changes it just so i can end up paying more. Could it be my OS.. i wonder.. im using Win ME and IE6.. and my bank account ain't looking to hot anymore

I say for the amount of money your spending for a Free Isp.you ought to get one that is lagite.(Nothing is free)If you've done a virus scan and the computer changes settings the only other thing is the Battery how old is the machine? are you getting any other things changing like the Time?

If you are using the package for the free ISP then it could very well be that they have it set to "always dial" and that in changing it signals some sort of check so that the next time you start up it resets it.
Read through the user agreement and you would probably find all sorts of interesting and not so nice things about the service, would it happen to be Juno by any chance?

Thanx, but its definitely not the PC because it's brand new, got it about a month ago - P4 1.6Ghz, etc. Also, this doesn't happen only when i restart it happens while im connected to the Internet. For instance, i've changed the setting 10 minutes ago.. i go back to check and walla back to the old setting.

Sounds like it could very well be because of the free ISP you are using...
