I get a zone alarm pop up, asking permission for 'webtrap MFC' to connect to the internet, if I refuse permission all I get is 'page unavailable'

Now 'webtrap.exe' is a program which is part of Pc Cillon A/V but what is 'webtrap MFC' I can't find anything in my directories, & have found nothing (in English) on a google search (& other engines) though I did find a page in German (which wouldn't translate) Any Ideas ?

Vic, webtrap is is used by PC cillin to filter out malacious Java and ActiveX programs. You will need to let Zonealarm allow it to pass, so next time give it permission and all will be ok. Got your problems sorted out yet? Was it a virus and what was the outcome?

Hi scroatbag,

2nd part first: Yes, it was Badtrans virus, seems like there are variations on it as A/V sites list different fixes, Only 'Command' site found it though! I seem to have got over it now, all my A/V is bang up to date & I'm regularly checking it. I was going to re-format but I wanted a few answers first. eg: Still can't access my site , & am still puzzled by that, I know what you're saying about Publisher is true, but I have been accessing the site for 2 years & now I can't, so what's changed ?

1st part:Yes webtrap.exe is the Pc Cillon filter, but it is not webtrap.exe that is looking to access the web it is webtrap MFC. It is probably ok but I can't find any reference to it to check, & maybe I'm just feeling a bit untrusting after having the virus.

Have got 1st Page ready to re-do my site, (when I get time) but would still like to know what has changed that I can't access my old one.
