reboot problem

Hi,
I'm running Win Me and a while back something happened and now when I go to the "shutdown" screen and click "restart" everything goes fine except when the monitor goes blank, the computer wont start back up without me turning the power off from the tower. I've got Partition Magic installed and thought it was time to reformat anyway, but when I try that, Partition Magic cancels the procedure because the computer wont restart as it should.
I haven't been able to figure out or find anything on this problem.
Any help would be much appreciated!

do you have a virus checker installed?

i had the same problem, and apparently if you have Norton or McAfee you have to disable the 'Scan floppies at shutdown' option, as this can cause it to hang.

yes, I do have Norton System Works installed but I've already tried that and it did help.
