Hi- I ran into lots of problems after installing a game by Hasbro for the kids. First, Norton SystemWorks wouldn't work. Their knowledge base told me that CleanSweep wouldn't work if some files were overwritten. I reinstalled SystemWorks (2001) and was told that CleanSweep wouldn't fully install. How can I get CleanSweep to fully install? Do I need to do a manual uninstall of SystemWorks? Also, when moving around within SystemWorks, I get all sorts of Script Errors. I can't find in Norton Anti-Virus how to turn off Script Blocking. Any ideas? Here's my main dilemma- I can't open Internet Explorer because apparently, according to Symantec, IE 5.5 needs a newer version of WININIT.DLL than I have. Does anyone know where I can find that one (5.something)? Then, where would I place it? Also, when trying to start Windows MediaPlayer 7, I'm told that an "Internal Application error occurred." Is this somehow related? Never had any problems whatsoever untill after installing this game (Frogger), which no longer resides on the computer. Aby help would be greatly appreciated.

An update- starting to reinstall IE 6.0 update seems to have replaced most of the missing files. Unfortunately, Windows MediaPlayer and Dell Solutions are caput.

An update to my post- I am now unable to do anything with both Internet Explorer (6.0) and Outlook Express. With Outlook Express I get this: "One or more parts of this message could not be displayed." I click OK and the, "There was an error opening this message. There is not enough memory." I get the same when trying to create new mail or replying. With IE, I can't do anything. The application starts up, but that's it. Any ideas?

Hopefully this is my last update on this one. I uninstalled IE and Outlook Express and reinstalled both. They both are up and running fine now. This should be the last on this. MediaPlayer also installed with the updates, and that's working good as well. Thanks for all your input.

csonni: I am glad you have it fixed, but I'd like to ask a question. When you say that you uninstalled IE and Outlook..you mean that you went to Add/Remove and removed them? And puter worked okay until you reinstalled them? No problems? In the "middle", were you back to the basic IE and Outlook that came with your OS?

Yeah. I removed them through the Control Panel Add/Remove. PC ran fine- but then, i didn't run it too long before reinstalling. I reinstalled from the big download I saved which included IE 6, Outlook Express 6 and Windows MediaPlayer 7. Everything still seems to be working fine. I did check for the WININIT.DLL for the newer versions and it's there. Must have come with the reinstall.

Had to Search to find my way back here, and apologize for belated...been busy. Thanks, csonni, I appreciate the info. We're considering pulling IE 5.5 off hubby's puter and so I wanted to know if anything unforeseen had occurred.
