Hi Forumers,
Wonder anyone can help me solve this......
After clean installing Win98SE and was trying to update my Win98SE from the Windows Update site. When I was connected to the site, this was what happened..... "You are downloading the file: redir from windowsupdate.microsoft.com Would you like to open the file or save it to your computer?
Chosing either options, will be prompted to open the files with any program, using wordpad to open, but was only able to see gabbages of funny signs. I am using NAV2002 but don't thing this have anything to do with it.
Appreciate some help.
Thanks

Disable NAV and try updates again. Post back if further problems arise.
FYI, have always had success doing updates immediately after clean install, with no other software on the machine.

Hi fixrupr,
Tks for your info, managed to access the site without disabling NAV. The problem might be with the MS Windowsupdate site. One of the Harwarezoners shared his experience and led me to this site to work-around the problem--- http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/?IE
Would like to share with everyone who might face this problem in future.
Tks.
