I know this topic is little behind the times but I'm still using Win98 and Win98SE.

I'm trying to upgrade Win98 to Win98SE with the SE upgrade (The $20.00 version). It's worked several times before (not on this computer) but there is nothing out of the ordinary in this system except it has a real cheap M/B (K7SEM).

Both the Win98 disk and the SE upgrade disk are mine.

The Win98 installation is relatively new. I have used it very little before trying the upgrade.

The problem is when it asks for the product key and I enter it I get an error saying it is the wrong key. I've gone into the registry to check the key and it is correct.

Any suggestings other than contacting MS about my problem. I've contacted them in the past about other problems and their answers have always been useless.

Thanks for reading this problem.

If your asking about the SP1 disk for win98
If it requires a KEY the number / key should be on the cd case cover or slip cover.
I see no reason for it requiring one
But that is where all of the other codes are on MS disks
