I'm confused.

Some attachments are blocked with Outlook XP for security reasons which is fine, however when I used the Knowledge base article on accessing attachments with Outlook XP (Q290497) and followed it to the letter by doing the Level1Remove and adding the required file types yet still find that I'm requested to save to disk first.

Then looking thru the list of Level 1 file types and there is none of the standard stuff...like .doc and as I understand this means that a .doc would be a Level 2 category file.

The question I have as it is not answered in the knowledge base article...is how the heck do I access the LEvel 2 files or indeed how can make it so outlook will open the attachments not on the Level 1 list? I tried adding them to the Level1Remove but it still failed.

Help pls??

Outlook will never allow you to open a level 1 or 2 file from Outlook itself. Any file on the level 2 "list" will always prompt to be saved to disk first before opening. Level 1 files are simply blocked.

There are some other Outlook configuration options but they can only be used if the user has an Exchange mail box. If this is how your using Outlook then go here : http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/esecup/admin.htm
for more info.
