Go to Control Panel/System/device mangager and look for "!" or "?" beside the Hard Drive controller section or anywhere for that matter......and post back what you find........someone will take you from there on what to do.

Yes there is a ! against the Secondary IDE Controller and when I double click it says the devise is not working correctly due to the bois reporting incorrect resources (code 9).

Well........if you need to put a device on the Secondary IDE channel then the fix is a bit complicated (you have to remove the PRIMARY HD controller and reinstall it with correct drivers + possibly change settings in the BIOS config) and there is a remote possibility that the secondary HD controller is defective...so, unless you NEED the secondary IDE controller for more devices, you might want to consider just not worrying about it.......HOWEVER, if you feel the need to fix it........post back and someone will tell you how to go about this fix.

Thanks Randy,
Your advise tells me that I have no need to fix the problem as I do not intend using the controller. The sytems runs fine as it is, so I'll leave well alone.
Thanks Again.
