First I'd like to thank everyone who has responded to my inquiries since I've been on board the discussion forum. You've all have been very, very helpful. I'm the "geek" with the 430FX chipset, 133Mhz Cyrix CPU, 64MB machine running Win95b. I'm stuck with this "speed demon" for the time being, so bare with me. I'm looking to buy an anti-virus utility. Everything I've read suggests that Norton's Anti-Virus is pretty much the one to have. If that's true, should I purchase 2001-7.0 or 2002? Both say they will run with my O.S., although Norton 2002 contends it uses less resources to run. I have no, or never have had an anti-virus utility on my machine. At this point I hesitate to do any e-mailing or downloading until I've confident my system is clean. Hopefully your O.S. programs are checking my uploads. Suggestions please. Thanks again...and as to the suggestion about a "tip box", let's all remember, there is NO FREE LUNCH.

If you are reasonably careful about email and want to save that money for a faster system my advice would be to use Trend Micro's Housecall "on-line" to scan your HD weekly. I've used it for three years now and it's the most up to date I've seen around at any price....and it's completely free! Here is the link:

Good luck!

Here (http://www.grisoft.com) ia a link for AVG...a fairly full featured AV program...and it too is free (within certain geographic areas), it has the features of a full fledged program, regular definition updates and other features....

I think most of the regulars here will back up mjc on this issue - AVG is a great product, and the price can't be beat! http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
