I have a problem, and the people here always seem to know how to fix it, so I'm asking you if you can help.
My porblesm is that I can't run programs, most of the tiem they hang or say that they're not responding, I have alot of memory, so that is not the problem, I noticed this problem when I tried to play one of the games that has already worked fine for years, but it didn't respond, and then i tried to use another game, and it didn't work, how do I fox this problem?

What OS are you using? Not Windows 2000 is it? This isn't really aimed at gamers!
It could also be down to a faulty CD ROM. Perhaps somebody else could suggest a diagnostic program that will check the performance of the CD-ROM.
Actually, it could also be down to your video card. I recently had a problem running a CD on a computer which I fixed by reducing the display settings from 16 bit colour to 256 colours and also slowing down the hardware acceleration. Maybe its worth giving this a try as well.

It seems to be a Windows problem, then. I should confess I'm not an expert at tinkering with the inner workings of the Windows registry. However, when I've had similar problems in the past then any of following 3 solutions have usually worked.
1. Run a program like Norton Utilities (available as a free trial from www.symantec.com). (http://www.symantec.com).) This has always worked for me but in some cases I've heard it can make things even worse so be warned!
2. Reinstall Windows over the top of your current installation. (ie just stick the CD in the drive with Windows already loaded and let it run). This should repair any damaged files and will also keep all your data and programs intact.
3. If its still not working then back everything up, reformat your hard drive and reinstall Windows. As you have a Pentium 2, you could also consider upgrading to Windows 98 SE.
Hope this helps,
Andy
